Welcome to our website!
At Age Concern Southend, we aim to provide services which respond to the needs of older people in the borough. From our office and assisted by our team of volunteers, we offer comfort, friendship and practical help to residents who feel isolated or who need regular or occasional support in maintaining the life which they wish to lead. Advice, information and support are also given to the families, friends and carers of older people.
While Age Concern Southend is affiliated to the national Age Concern charity, we are autonomous and receive no funding from them. We are funded by Southend-on-Sea Borough Council, with additional income coming from donations and fund-raising events.
We have tried to make this site easy to navigate. Please select the topic which interests you. Please note that we cannot recommend tradesmen.
We also offer a befriending service for lonely people and a transport service for medical appointments. We supply hearing aid batteries and our speakers give talks and hold surgeries for local clubs and associations. Please telephone us for details.
