Charges For Health Services

If you are receiving Minimum Income Guarantee (MIG), neither you or your partner have to pay charges for NHS prescriptions, NHS dental treatment, NHS sight tests or NHS wigs and fabric supports,but take your order book with you. If you are 60 or over, not receiving MIG, have a low income and savings of no more than £12,000, you may be entitled to help with treatment, but you should apply in advance. Obtain form HC1 from the Benefits Agency office and be sure to get a receipt for whatever work is done. The Falls Service

The Falls Service aims to reduce the incidence of falls and osteoporosis in the older population group.  They promote independent living in the community by increasing patient awareness and education in all aspects of the prevention and management of falls and osteoporisis. GUIDE DOGS

Do you, or does someone you know, have sight loss that makes it

difficult to get around independently or live life to the full?  A guide dog

could make a life-changing difference.

You don't need to have lost all your sight.  There are no age restrictions. 

It costs just 50p to have a guide dog.  No previous experience of

keeping or caring for a dog is necessary.

THE OLIVE TREE

 The Olive Tree Centre is a counselling service offering a confidential

listening and counselling service.  helping you to explore and work

through situations and issues in a supportive, non-judgemental

environment.  We help with a range of issues including: Bereavement,

Trauma, Loss, Depression, Loneliness and many other issues.

Appointments are available from Monday to Saturday, 9am - 9pm

The Olive Tree Centre, Eastwood Baptist Church, Nobles Green Road,

Eastwood, Leigh On Sea, Eastwood SS9 5PY.

Eye Care

FREE NHS Eye Examination and Glasses for those Eligible visiting Optician for the Elderly or Housebound -  contact: 08000 80 60 95.  www.HomeSightOnline.co.uk Many opticians, dentists and chiropodists provide a home visiting service, though a charge may be made. Many chemists will also deliver prescriptions. Contact them directly. Free eye tests are available for people over 60. Essex Eye Care for the Elderly provide free home visits for those aged 60 and over. Toe-nail Cutting
