Age Concern Southend - How you can help us benefit the elderly of Southend On Sea
Age Concern Southend receives no funding from the Age Concern England, we are affiliated to them but are entirely autonomous.
Much of our work to improve the lives of older people in Southend could not continue without the very hard work of fundraising, donations and gifts.
At Age Concern Southend we rely upon the kindness of our volunteers who give their time freely. We offer a befriending service and transport for medical appointments within the borough. We organise two major fundraising events annually and without the help of the volunteers we would not be able to have these well enjoyed happy events.

You can make a donation by sending us a cheque or postal order made payable to Age concern Southend, Lower Ground Floor, Civic Centre, Victoria Avenue, Southend On Sea, SS2 6ER.
Make a Regular gift by Standing Order
Even a small amount, when given regularly, can help us plan better, do more and reach even more older people. Contact us on 01702 215780 to ask for a standing order form.
DONATIONS IN WILLS AND LEGACIES
The above contributions are vital towards our funding. With these donations we are able to offer a much needed service to the elderly of the borough. It will ensure we are able to keep our vital services running.
You will be helping to fund Age Concern Southend's important work with older people in the community. Without the kindness of people who remember us in their wills, much of our work to improve the lives of older people simply could not continue.
How much to donate
Once you have provided for your family and friends, any legacy you can leave, whether large or small, will be put towards the running costs of Age Concern Southend together with improving the quality of life for the elderly.
For a gift of a specific sum, you will need the correct wording for inclusion in your will.
"I give the sum of £ to Age Concern Southend charity number: 266853 of Lower Ground Floor, Civic Centre, Victoria Avenue, Southend On Sea, Essex SS2 6ER. For its general charitable purposes. I further declare that the receipt of the Treasurer or other Trustee shall be a full and sufficient discharge for the said legacy."
You may like to leave Age Concern Southend the residue of your estate (residuary bequest)
"I give the residue of my estate to Age Concern Southend charity number: 266853." Followed by the wording above.
Gift Aid
Use Gift Aid and you can make your donation worth more. For every pound you give us, we get an extra 28 pence from the Inland Revenue.
To qualify for Gift aid, what you pay in income tax or capital gains tax must be at least equal the amount we will claim in the tax year.
Ask us for a Gift Aid form when you send your donation.
