A social services assessment should always be made to assess needs and what the local authority can pay towards fees. Tel 01702 534646.. If you have capital of more than £21,500 you will be excluded from local authority help until the capital is reduced. If you own your own home and you live there alone, the local authority will normally meet fees until the home is sold and then reclaim them from the proceeds of the sale.
