When you are making a will you naturally want to make sure that your loved ones are cared for. By making a gift to our small independent charity you can also make sure that older people in the Southend area continue to get the help they need from us.
We work to improve and maintain health and well being in people aged 60+ by offering support, advice and guidance, helping people make informed decisions about any thing they need.
We hear from and help older people living alone, from all backgrounds, that they are often simply overwhelmed by the loneliness they feel.
“Being severely visually impaired I can no longer see the television or read a book so I just state at my walls. I don’t have any family left and there is no-one to talk to anymore”
We provide face to face and telephone befriending and also visit care homes to help alleviate loneliness and isolation.
Our Haven Community Hub is host to Club 50+ a community club where we encourage healthy activity by offering fitness classes and where we promote social engagement with afternoon teas and other events and activities.
The Specialist Day Service is open during the week to care for clients living with dementia. Offering family and carers some respite while their loved ones are supported with an individually assessed package of care and activities.
Your gift could:
- Help us to provide more services to older people in Southend
- Pay for class tutors for the Community Hub
- Fund DBS checks and training for our volunteers
- Fund crafts and games for the specialist day service
Making a will is one of the most important decisions you will ever make so be sure to talk to your family and friends and seek the advise of a professional.
