We provide a personalised service based on a varied activity programme designed to improve the health and wellbeing of our members.

The centre is staffed by trained support workers from Age Concern Southend and supported by volunteers, ‘Days at the Haven’ will provide an opportunity to engage and socialise with others in a safe friendly environment – contributing to our members’ self-esteem and self-fulfillment. We access every member to ensure we cater to their likes and dislikes, skills and abilities to offer a full range of activities they will enjoy including singing for the brain, interactive story telling, games, music and dancing, gentle exercise, hand and foot massage relaxation.

Do you accept funded places?

Yes, we can take direct payments from Southend Borough Council if eligible.

Your place at Days at the Haven can be paid privately, by Social Services, Direct Payments or a combination of the two.

Direct Payments are local council payments for people who have been assessed as needing help from social services, and who would like to arrange and pay for their own care and support services instead of receiving them directly from the local council.

Your local council must offer you the option of direct payments in place of the services you currently receive. If you are not receiving social services and would like to know more, please contact Southend Social Services: 01702 352641
